Thursday, December 7th

Today in class we finished adding notes to pages 45 and 46 in class.  We also worked on defining the layers of the atmosphere on page 47 of the notebook.

Hwk Tonight:  Finish the map by first using red and blue to map out warm and cold ocean currents, then map out warm and cold air currents with pink and purple colored pencils.  All the arrows go on the same map and will be layered on top of one another.

Answer these questions.

1.  Describe the pattern and movement of the ocean currents on Earth.  What patterns do you see and how is the water moving in regards to the poles and equator?  Do you see evidence of convection occurring?  How?

2.   Describe the pattern and movement of the air/wind currents on Earth.  What patterns do you see and how is the water moving in regards to the poles and equator?  Do you see evidence of convection occurring?  How?

3.  What is similar about the wind and ocean currents on Earth?  What is different about the wind and ocean currents on Earth?
