October 29th and 30th

Hi Students:  Here are the plans for classes when I am out at the STEM conference.  Use your time wisely, do not give yourself homework this weekend!  Quiz will be on Friday, please read and study!

Thursday:  All classes – Please have them work on their next notebook page and cut out their colored animals (worksheets on the front lab bench) that represent the Phyla of Invertebrates and the frog that represents the Phylum Chordata.

They need to glue pictures into the next left page in their notebook,  this is page 39 for periods 1-3 and 7, and page 31 for periods 4/5.

Next have them start their CBB projects for Invertebrates.  They need to work on creating a cover and title, then begin setting up their Chapters.   The CBB directions are in Ebackpack.  They will continue working on the CBB in class Friday and there will be assigned work on Monday and Tuesday night so that the project is done and turned in Wednesday next week.  Today I would have them do Chapter 1 and 2, tomorrow do Chapter 3-5, Monday Ch 6 is homework, Tuesday Ch 7 is homework, and then the Summary quiz will be extra credit!

Remember that a well written paragraph is 5-8 sentences, use a topic sentence, three supportive detail sentences and then a closing statement to bring it altogether.  5 sentences should be the aim for every paragraph written!

Students should start finding the information needed by first using the digital textbook or the green reference books near the microwave to help describe and explain each Phylum of animals.  The next place to look for information would be the web, and they can do online searches as needed for images or info.

Friday:  Continue on with the CBB project, try to finish Ch 1-5 before they leave class,  if not have them catch up over the weekend.

Here is a tutorial link for CBB if you need it!
