Happy Cinco de Mayo!!!

Watch the video in class today first to understand basics of the digestive system.  You may need to watch this individually with earphones or with our sub, depending on whether they have a computer or not....

Today in class you will be looking at your bags of baby food from yesterday and compare them to a control.  The control has the same scoop of baby food as your experiment, but was sealed in a bag.  Note the differences, describe in your notebook under #3 and draw under #5.  As a group come up with a 5-8 sentence paragraph to state the results of the experiment, how it compared to your initial Claim and explain what happened and why it happened using what you know about digestion so far.

After you are done you will be going to your next left and right page in the notebook.  Set up for left page the title "Organs of the Digestive System"  on the right side title this "Analogies"

Define these organs and their function of the digestive system on the left:  teeth, tongue, salivary glands, esophagus, stomach, small intestines, liver, gall bladder, large intestines, pancreas.

On the right page write the word and an analogy:  i.e. teeth are like a chainsaw because they...... the analogy makes a connection to the function of the organ and what it does in the digestive process.  You may work with you table group on this, no moving tables.

The sub will go over the answers to the practice set at the end of the period and I will also post the answers today to the blog after school!!!!
