Chapters all need to be title with Chapter and the number: Chapter 1 - Chapter 13
Chapter 1: Each of the nine systems need to be defined and described and there is a list of Major Organs for each section. There is an image of each system for the following 9 descriptions.
1. Integumentary System
2. Skeletal System
3. Muscular System
4. Digestive System
5. Cardiovascular System
6. Respiratory System
7. Excretory System
8. Nervous System
9. Reproductive System
Chapter 2: Title this "How does Homeostasis work?" There is a description of Homeostasis, in detail what is negative and positive feedback and how they work. Two pictures to represent the types of feedback.
Chapter 3: Create a Heading "The Skeletal System", underneath copy and paste and fill in the information needed!
1. The bones of the body are pulled in many directions when the muscles contract and relax. This allows us movement of the body and allows us to do many different activities. We dissected a chicken wing to take a closer look at the skeletal and muscular systems.
2. Photo of the chicken wing before it was skinned:
3. Photo of the dissected biceps/triceps or the flexor/extensor muscles of the forearm.
4. Photo of a tendon:
5. Definition of a tendon:
6. Photo of a ligament:
7. Definition of a ligament:
8. Video of the biceps contracting and the triceps relaxing. Muscles always work in pairs, opposite muscle groups have one muscle contracting while the other one relaxes. This will allow for movement of the bones and our skeleton.
9. Photo of cartilage and bone marrow.
10. Definition of cartilage:
11. Definition of bone marrow:
Chapter 4:
Add Chapter 4: Make a heading "Major Bones of the Body"
1. Add a diagram of the major bones of the body which should be labeled.
Chapter 5: Bone Facts: In Chapter 5 of your CBB title this section "Facts about the Bones". Next step create at least 10 Questions and Answers using the notes below as a Review of the information about Bones. You want to have one word answers for your questions.
- ▸Makes blood cells in the marrow for the cardiovascular and respiratory systems
- ▸Supports the body and works with the muscular system to coordinate movements and for locomotion
- ▸Protects the nervous system and cardiovascular systems from major injuries
- ▸Stores calcium and coordinates from digestive system
- ▸A baby is born with more bones than an adult. Over time ossification occurs and the bones fuse.
- ▸A bone cell is called an osteocyte.
- ▸Adults have about 206 bones.
- ▸Bones grow and thicken during our lifetime
- ▸Joints are places in the body where two bones meet.
- ▸The smallest bones are in your ear! (3 bones)
- ▸Are made of dense, compact bone and areas with lots of spaces called spongy bone.
- ▸Bone marrow produces blood cells for the body.
- ▸Bones protect vital organs.
- ▸Longest bone in the body is the femur.
- ▸Most commonly broken bone is the clavicle.
Chapter 6: name this "Types of Joints and Video Explanations"
number 1. Immovable 2. Ball and Socket 3. Hinge 4. Pivot 5. Gliding
A video demonstrating and explaining this joint is in each section and should be viewable!
Chapter 7: Create a Chapter 7.
Chapter 11: Title Box "The Cardiovascular System"
1. What makes up the cardiovascular system and which systems does the cardiovascular system interact with or assist with in order to keep the body alive?
2. Define artery:
3. Define vein:
4. Define capillaries:
5. Explain these sentences and their relationship to bloodflow:
Very Cute RATs Require Very Pretty Apples!
Little Piggy Visits LA Because Las Vegas Attracts Bears!
Chapter 12: title the section "How Breathing Works" then you will need to add a video of you and your partner demonstrating with your model the way breathing occurs and with reference to pressure and your diaphragm.
Chapter 13: title this "Respiratory System" you then need to add an image with the structures and organs of the Respiratory system underneath the section title. Define and describe the functions of each structure under the image using this list: nose, mouth, epiglottis, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi, bronchioles, alveoli, diaphragm.
Chapter 7: Create a Chapter 7.
Make a heading THE MUSCULAR SYSTEM.
List the questions and answers.
Make a heading HOW DOES A MUSCLE CELL CONTRACT.
ADD VIDEO.
ADD A PARAGRAPH, Write SUMMARY: then summarize the video under this section.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ktv-CaOt6UQ
Copy and paste the questions, and fill in the answers as you watch the video.
1. What are the three types of muscle that exist?
2. What are the two types of fibers that are working in the muscles all the time?
3. Where would we find cardiac muscle?
4. Are skeletal muscles voluntary or involuntary? How do you know?
5. What are the two rules when it comes to muscle contraction?
6. What are the two molecules that muscle cells want?
7. What is the purpose of mitochondria?
8. Give a summary of how the filaments slide past one another to get the muscles to contract and shorten and cause movements.
Chapter 8:
ADD a Chapter 8.
Add a heading THREE TYPES OF MUSCLE.
Add three pictures of the skeletal, smooth and cardiac muscles.
Chapter 9: title this "Muscle Contractions and Pairs"
There should be notes from the video explaining how muscle cells contract in pairs. Underneath create a section for "Antagonistic muscle pairs" and list out examples. Your list probably starts with the biceps and the triceps, and there are at least 6 pairs listed out and given.
Chapter 10: Title this section, "Digestive System Video Notes", underneath the embedded video please write a summary of the video and how the digestive system works. Must be a 5+ sentence paragraph.
