Classwork: On page 28 you are going to title your right page "Specific Heat Capacity Table",
next create a chart so that you can list out the specific heat numbers for 10 things, you need to include water as well! You need to websearch for specific heats in J/kgC and write down in your chart the 11 values for your 11 different substances.
Underneath your table write out a summary statement about your substances that lists them from the lowest to highest specific heat numbers Remember the smaller the number the faster they heat up, the higher the number the longer it takes to heat up and they require more energy to be heated. Which substance surprised you? Which substance did you think would be fastest? slowest? were you correct?
Next read with the class the review packet about energy transfer. People in class can volunteer to read to earn tickets. After we finish the section the substitute will handout the worksheet. Please complete this in class, this should be independent work and should be accomplished using the packet. Turn the worksheet in to the back tray at the end of class. If you did not finish please work on this over the weekend and see me on Monday.
Lastly, continue to work on the Quizlet review for next Thursday's Unit exam! The quizlet is easily accessible on the right side of this blog under the weblinks section. Click on Quizlet Reviews and select the one titled "Energy Unit Review" to study.
