Life Science:  Tonight work on your Shrinky Dinks.  Please outline all the details of your organelles with a permanent black marker, fine tip preferred but broad tip will work.  Cut out the shrinky dink so that there is hole punched at the top.  You will need to  remove the paper and tape that had the cell templates we traced.  Follow these instructions to bake them, they are due on Thursday in class!

Good luck Shrinking!  Shrinky Dink Procedure

  1. Preheat toaster oven or conventional oven to 300 - 325 degrees.
  2. Cut a rectangle shape out of a brown grocery bag or parchment/wax paper for baking and turn one corner up (turned-up corner will make it easy to remove from tray or cookie sheet.)
  3. Place one Shrinky Dink piece, colored side up, on paper and place paper in tray or cookie sheet.  Put into the pre-heated oven.
  4. Watch closely as your Shrinky Dink shrinks.  Bake approximately 1-3 minutes.  The shrink dink may curl, allow for this and wait a few seconds as it starts to flatten back out.  An additional 30 seconds of baking time to complete the process at most.
  5. Remove paper from tray or cookie sheet and lightly press FLAT with Folded paper or pad of paper or hot oven mit to keep the Shrinky Dink flat and until pieces have cooled.

Collab Science:  Test was today, hope you did well!  No homework tonight.
