Nucleus - the brain/boss
Mitochondria - Mighty Mouse Powerhouse
Chloroplast - Green Machine
Ribosome - Ribs, Meat, Protein
Endoplasmic Reticulum -Long word, long cellular highway
Golgi Complex - Fed Ex, Golgi Complex (rhymes)
Cell Membrane - membrane means maybe (you are allowed in or out!)
Cell Wall - think wall for structure, protection
Lysosome - lysosome not lazy, always working to clean the cell
Vacuole - like a vacuum, holds and stores materials
Cytoplasm - cyto think sits, organelles sit in the jelly-like plasm!
The rest of class you will need to work on your Cell Analogy. We will turn this into Ebackpack tomorrow in class. If you do not finish, please work on this at home. We will also work on the shrinky dinks tomorrow. If you want to do a creative original art cell, then tonight you want to use a half sheet of copy/printer paper and draw out the cell with the above organelles for tomorrow's tracing on the Shrinky Dink Plastic, I will also have templates to use and trace. You need to create either an animal cell (without chloroplasts and cell wall) or an plant cell (with chloroplasts, cell wall, and a very large central vacuole).
Continue to study for your exam on Friday, you have the studyguide!!! :)
