Today we set up our Science notebooks to take down our observations of plant and animal examples at Polliwog park. We wanted to describe examples of animal adaptations as well as plant adaptations and structures that help with successful reproduction. i.e. today we looked at the Wood Duck male and females as well as the Mallard Duck males and females and compared them. How does the feather colors help the male with attracting a mate????
We also drew out a complete flower from the garden and labeled the parts as much as what we could identify and see.
Write out descriptions about nests, bird song, colorful feathers in males, larger size of female versus male turtles, flowers with bright colors and patterns that attract pollinators, aromas/smell of flowers that attract pollinators and position of the stamen and pistil that helps flowering plants get pollinated.
See notebook pictures below and pictures of some things we saw in the Botanicals as well!
