Wednesday, December 6th

Happy DAY OF CODE!  Today we are participating with millions of students in America in learning how to code during Hour of Code 2017 which occurs during Computer Science Education Week, December 4-10!  We will be using this website today:  www.code.org, you will need to click the START button  and may need to watch the introduction video for your module.  These are fun and easy.  You need to work individually.  If you do not have an iPad you will need to work on pages 470-479 in the Red Earth Science textbook in the classroom.  Read these pages and then complete questions 1-10 on a separate piece of paper.  The sub will leave me a list of students that did not bring their iPad today and I will be expecting your classwork tomorrow for classwork credit!

Students you will spend the entire period on your iPad using your headphones/earbuds to work on one module to completion.  Finish your module, print your certificate and turn this in on Thursday for Extra Credit points.  Log onto www.code.org, and select grade 6-8, then look for one of the approved modules to do from the list below.

You can complete:  Moana Wayfinding with Code, Minecraft, StarWars Building a Galaxy with Code, Code with Anna and Elsa, Disease Epidemic, or the Infinity Play Lab module.  Most of these have 12-15 levels to complete and then you will earn your certificate.

I will collect your extra credit certificates tomorrow and we will continue our Atmosphere study on Thursday.  Have a great day and see you tomorrow!
